Leading
a GO Adventure adventure is a serious responsibility, and seriously
fun! Our program is unique and risk management is our top priority.
We’re not a typical summer camp because our trips are all
wilderness based. Other wilderness programs focus on hard skills,
or personal development, or just globe trotting and pure fun.
GO Adventure really is little bit of all of them and our students
represent all walks. We’ve learned that in working with
kids, being flexible, positive and ‘in the moment’
is one of our most effective policies. GO Adventure therefore requires
our trip leaders to be experienced youth workers and seasoned
outdoor enthusiasts who genuinely enjoy being in a mentor role.
College degrees preferred but significant life experience is valued
equally.
Our trips can take you to beautiful wilderness areas
throughout California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Idaho,
Hawaii, and Costa Rica with wonderful groups of excited
teenagers. GO Adventure trips are often life-changing
experiences for our participants largely because our
leaders are committed to making a difference in the
lives of youth. A willingness to share a respect for
the wilderness is an essential trait of our leaders,
along with the desire to always take proactive safety
measures while having lots of fun.
GO Adventure believes in utilizing the individual strengths
of each leader, and flexibility is built into every
itinerary; leaving room to tailor each trip to every
leader’s and the group’s abilities and interests.
GO Adventure focuses on the many positive sides of kids,
enjoying and emphasizing their many strengths, talents,
and accomplishments. We offer professional training
and ongoing support to make sure you are able to provide
the most positive wilderness experiences for youth.
